If you haven’t made any plans for watching the solar eclipse on August 21 we suggest you consider renting a kayak or canoe and experiencing it from the water. There are many places in the area that are either leading guided tours on that day or are renting kayaks, canoes and paddleboards out for self-guided tours. Following are some worth checking out. If you know of more please add them in the comments section.
Total Solar Eclipse Kayak Tour is being offered by Black River Outdoors at Harris Landing. There will be experts on hand to teach you all the fascinating facts about a solar eclipse. Everyone will have chance to get out on a sandbar to take a rest between paddling. The tour is suitable for all levels of experience. Price is $100 per person ($75 of the ticket price goes towards the fund to build the exhibits at the Huntington Beach State Park Nature Center).
