The Surfside Beach Turkey Trot is on Thanksgiving morning, November 24, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon. This is the Grand Strand’s best and largest Turkey Trot and it will start and finish at the Surfside Pier in Surfside Beach, SC. Enjoy a great view of the Atlantic Ocean while you work up an appetite for dinner. The event will feature a 10K, 5K, 1 mile plus a free Kid’s Tot Trot!

South Carolina State Bluegrass Festival will be held Thursday, November 24, 2011 starting at 12:00 p.m. and run through Saturday, November 26, 2011. The South Carolina State Bluegrass Festival takes place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center from noon until 10:00 p.m. The festival in an enjoyable family-friendly atmosphere.

The Annual Intracoastal Christmas Regatta will be held Saturday, November 26th from 5 – 7 pm. The boat parade passes along the waterway from Little River to Dock Holidays Marina. Any location along the Intracoastal Waterway provides a perfect view of the parade. Drop off a new toy for the children of Horry County at any collection point in Little River or North Myrtle Beach.

2011 Carolina Beach Music Awards Weekend is held from November 9-13, 2011. 2011 Awards Show is held Sunday, Nov. 13 at Alabama Theatre at 3 p.m. Doors open at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the Alabama Theatre, by calling 1-800-342-2262 or you can purchase your tickets online @ www.alabama-theatre.com or www.carolinabeachmusicawards.com. Weekend passes will be available at the doors of participating clubs during Show Weekend Only and can also be purchased in OD Resort Lobby starting Thursday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. Passes will be required for Friday night, Saturday night and the Sunday night at all participating clubs. Weekend Pass Cost is $50. If you are a member of the Carolina Beach Music Academy, the pass cost is $45. (Must show membership card with picture ID to obtain discounts). Passes are not required for the following Saturday afternoon activities (Pig Picking, Music Showcase or during the Band Fair on Sunday). All of these events are open to the public. $7 donation for Pig Picking goes to CBMA Scholarship Foundation.
