It’s hard to believe that October is almost here and that only means that the weather will hopefully be cooler. Vacationing to Myrtle Beach during the fall months have a different feel to them. There isn’t the hustle and bustle of the busy summer season and you’re able to enjoy your time more. Staying with us at Sloan Realty can keep your family close to where the fun is at. Let’s look below at some of the fun, festive things your family can do this October.
Did Someone Say Shrimp?
Do you and your family love to eat fresh local seafood when you are on vacation? We have to say that there are a ton of restaurants here in Myrtle Beach where you can grab some shrimp. But why not try a local festival that is happening in Little River. Come out on out for the 15th Annual Little River ShrimpFest. Not only will the food be out of this world, but the entertainment is great too! This event is happening on October 12th & 13th this year with many more things for you to explore.
Where’s the Fire?
Another great event that the kids will love is over at Fire Station No. 3 at 2108 Kings Highway. Here they can learn about fire safety, participate in fingerprinting and see many demonstrations. This event is happening on October 12th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and is one the kids will remember forever. Plus, what’s visiting a fire station without getting to ride in a firetruck?
Is This the 60’s?
Head over to the Myrtle Beach Speedway to join in the fun of the 1960’s. When floral dresses were out of this world and tie-dyed shirts were the best. Hippie Fest is happening on Saturday, October 26th is where your family can learn to see how it was back in the 60’s. Admission to the event is $10 for adults and free for kids under 10. The food will be good, there will be groovy music to dance to and just enjoy the day with the family!

Kick the summer off by coming to the Sun Fun Festival & Parade on Saturday, June 1st & 2nd. This is a historic festival that is happening at Pyler Park and won’t want to miss it. The fun begins on Friday afternoon and will have live entertainment, carnival games and the official “opening ceremony” along the boardwalk. Summer is here and that only means that it’s time to take the family to see the Myrtle Beach Pelicans play a game or a few. Their baseball season will be in full swing for 2019 and you won’t want to miss a single second of the fun. Tickets to see the game can cost as little as $9 per person and we promise you that there is not one bad seat in the whole stadium. Many of the June home games will include playing against the Wilmington Blue Rocks, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers and the Potomac Nationals. Don’t miss this fun activity with the family as you cheer on our hometown team the Pelicans!
Water Lantern Festival
For something a little different yet fun for everyone in the family, come to the Water Lantern Festival this year. Head over to the Grand Park at the Market Common with the whole family for an evening of fun on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Happening from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm is where you can enjoy some of the food from the food trucks and live music. Another perk of coming to the festival is you and your family can design your own water lantern and let them float on the lake. What a fun event for everyone of all ages to attend something fun and exciting. The cost of the festival is $25 per person but can be something like you’ve never seen before.
Do you and your family love fireworks but you don’t want to wait until the 4th of July? Then have no fear as June is the kickoff to the nightly firework shows. When you and your family are on vacation to the beach each year, you too can experience seeing nightly fireworks from all around the area. North Myrtle Beach is where you can head over to Barefoot Landing on Monday nights at 10:00 pm to see the amazing display in the sky. A few other places that you will be able to check out for fireworks are at Broadway at the Beach and at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans games. Be sure to check them out on your next family vacation to the beach.
