10th Annual Myrtle Beach Independence Day 5KDon’t Miss These 4th of July Events in Myrtle Beach

Get up and start the day with running in the 10th Annual Myrtle Beach Independence Day 5K run. Come to the Market Common at 7:30 am to participate in this fun 4th of July race. Each runner will receive a race shirt and a post-race breakfast from Bojangles. This happens to be one of the largest races in the area and it’s one that you don’t want to miss. If you don’t think you will be able to make it through the 5K, have no fear because they are offering a 1-mile race too. What a great way to start the holiday by getting in a little exercise!

Red, White & Blue 5K Race

Another fun 5K race that is happening in the Myrtle Beach area is the Red White & Blue 5K at Barefoot Landing. The race will begin and end at the new Amphitheater at Barefoot Landing and is something that you don’t want to miss. All are welcome to come participate including runners, walkers and those who have young ones in strollers. The race starts at 7:30 am and you can enjoy breakfast beginning at Lulu’s which is free for all registered runners. At 8:30 am the awards will be given to the runners. Don’t miss this fun and exciting race this coming up Thursday!

Hot Dog Eating Contest

Nothing says 4th of July unless there is an eating contest involved. This year come to Liberty Brewery & Grill at Broadway at the Beach for its hot dog contest. What a fun and exciting event for those who love hot dogs. The contest will begin at 3:00 pm and will have many prizes that can be won. Please note that there will be only 10 people who can register for this event and they must be over the age of 21 years old. A shirt will be provided to those who are registered at check in to wear during the contest.

Fireworks Galore

July 4th Fireworks are the best when viewed at the beach. This is something that many families have grown up around with vacationing to Myrtle Beach to help celebrate the holiday. Head over to Broadway at the Beach this Thursday night at 10:00 pm to watch the fireworks extravaganza. Be sure to get there a little early so that your family can grab the best seats in the house!

Don’t miss the 37th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at McLean Park in North Myrtle Beach for some extra fun. Beginning at 10:00 am the family can hunt for eggs throughout the park and it’s a free event to join in. Those who want to participate in the egg hunt will be divided into different age groups from infant and up. The Easter Bunny will be taking pictures with everyone and will be handing out candy to all the kids. Don’t forget to bring your cameras or have your phone charged enough to capture those precious moments.

Here you and your family will be able to enjoy an Easter Service, as well as carnival rides, games and so much more. There will be a petting zoo and let’s not forget about the pig racing. And when you have finished driving through the light show, go visit Santa’s Village for some extra special fun. You can enjoy some village treats, ride on Santa’s Express Train, slip & slide down Santa’s Super Slide and Ice Skate the night away. 27th Annual Run to the Sun Car Show

 

The 27th Annual Run to the Sun Car Show, one of the largest in the Southeast, will take place from March 19-21 at the former Myrtle Square Mall at 2501 Kings Hwy., Myrtle Beach. This event is held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and brings hundreds of street rods and classic cars to the Grand Strand. Pre-registration for the event is at the Clarion Hotel, 101 Fantasy Harbour Blvd. MB from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Door prizes will be awarded among registered participants. The show raises money for the Children's Miracle Network and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

 

3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Thompson Farm in Conway, SC

 

The Easter activities don’t wait until Easter Sunday to start. The 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Thompson Farm in Conway, SC, will take place on Saturday, March 21 along with brunch with the Easter Bunny. The Easter Egg Hunt will follow brunch and has more than 10,000 eggs hidden throughout the farm area. Eggs will be filled with candy and prizes and each child is guaranteed an egg. A Golden Egg will be hidden that contains a special prize! Children will be divided into groups by age for the hunt. Other activities during the day include Pappy's Play Area, hay wagon rides and two animal feedings.

The limited seating Brunch Buffet starts at 10 a.m. and includes baked ham, an omelet station, sausage, bacon, grits, French toast, cheddar biscuits, fresh fruit, coffee, juice and milk. Brunch which will be served in Bucksville Hall. Enjoy visits with the Easter Bunny, Mickey, Minnie, Sponge Bob and Olaf!

The cost is $19 for ages 14 and up; $17 for ages 9 to 13; $12 for ages 3 to 8 and free for ages 2 and under. Call ahead for reservations. Join in on just the egg hunt and farm fun for $9/person.

 

Trinity Church Family Easter Festival and Easter Egg Hunt, Myrtle Beach, SC

 

The Trinity Church at 3000 N. Kings Hwy., Myrtle Beach, will hold a Family Easter Festival and Easter Egg Hunt for all families on Saturday, March 28 from 2-4 p.m. This free event includes egg hunts for toddlers, crafts, inflatables, games and more. The event will be held rain or shine. Please bring a non-perishable food donation for the Myrtle Beach High School Food Bank collection.

Come join the Myrtle Beach Easter Egg Plunge on April 2 from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Canal Street Recreation Center, 971 Canal St., Myrtle Beach. The free children's event the 5-12 year olds is in celebration of Easter. Activities include diving for eggs in the pool, along with candy and prizes. Advance registration is required by March 30. This is a well-attended event, so please check in 15 minutes before your "plunge." Registration required by calling 843-918-1476.

There will be a Tree Lighting Ceremony at Broadway at the Beach at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22. The 30th Annual Intracoastal Christmas Regatta will be held the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The fun-filled parade begins at the Little River Inlet at 5 p.m. and winds up at Dock Holidays Marina at 7 p.m. Bring a toy donation for Toys for Tots or a donation for the Humane Society.
