Spring is the Best Time to Buy and Sell Real Estate

We’re approaching that time of year when thoughts turn to selling and buying homes. Spring is simply the best time of the year to put a home on the market. It’s a time of transitions and new birth, an ideal time for people thinking of increasing the size of their “nest”. With interest rates still at record 20 year lows, what are you waiting for?

There is plenty of Myrtle Beach SC real estate on the market that we’d be happy to show you. New homes, existing homes and plenty of maintenance free condos at the beach.

If you’re tired of renting and ready to buy your first home, we can help. The cost of renting a home is getting harder and harder to afford. Did you know its cheaper to make a monthly mortgage payment than to continue paying rent for a property you’ll never own?

It’s definitely an exciting time for both home sellers and buyers as the 2018 real estate market begins to heat up. With so many brand new builds taking place in the area those hoping to buy are sure to find the perfect property and at a price they can afford. Act now and get a jump on the busiest months of the year.

This summer promises will find us moving properties like no other summer in the past years. We’re excited about that and we’d like to get you excited about it too. If you’d like to look at any Myrtle Beach SC real estate we have listed, just give us a call at 1-800-475-1760 and we’ll show you what we have. Wouldn't you like your next home to be at the beach?

Sloan Realty also has a large assortment of beach home rentals in Myrtle Beach.

How You Can Sell (or Buy) Before Year End

Many people know that spring is a peak season for buying or selling a home. But did you know when the second peak season is?

Autumn is a runner up to spring as the peak season when it comes to buying and selling Myrtle Beach real estate. It’s an attractive time to put your home on the real estate market and buyers are anxious to purchase before winter.

The majority of potential buyers to this area during the autumn months are retirees, singles and others without children. Home sales at this time of the year seem to be processed faster. Most likely because everyone wants to close before the holiday season arrives and the year ends.

If you’ve decided to put your home on the market in hopes of selling before year end following are some great tips that can help with that. Call us at Sloan Realty and we can make other suggestions to help.

1. Clean Sells, Dirty Doesn’t
Because it takes dirty homes longer to sell we recommend taking steps to make your house look better than it ever has. If you don’t have the tools to power wash your home, walkways, decks, windows and gutters, we recommend hiring a company to come in and do that before listing your home.

2. Eliminate the Clutter
Clear up all the leaves and other debris that can blow in with the wind at this time of year. Mow and edge both your front and rear lawns so they look neat. If you’d rather, hire a landscaping company to come in once and do it for you. Be sure your entryway and the house and garage is free from random knick-knacks, bicycles and toys that can make your home appear cluttered.

3. Autumn Curb Appeal
If your home’s exterior looks drab, consider painting it a warm color, planting Autumn flowers, or placing pumpkins strategically along your walkup to accent your home with color. Do this before you list! Potential buyers will make a quick judgment as soon as they lay eyes on your home. Keep fall decorations to a tasteful minimum. Compost any rotting pumpkins or dead mums. Make sure the paths and entryways are well lit for nighttime showings.

4. Warm and Cozy Appeals
Warm up your home with a fresh coat of paint and set the thermostat at a comfortable temperature. Turn the porch lights on as the days get shorter to present a welcoming presence.

During the daytime, open blinds and curtains so plenty of light illuminates the home's inside. Buy new throw pillows in a color like red, orange or golden yellow to breathe new life into a drab sofa.

Well-chosen embellishments can give potential buyers the impression you've paid attention to the smaller details of the home. Remember, there's nothing wrong with trying to temp buyers with the comforting aroma of a just-baked apple pie or banana bread to leave a lasting impression. To take it over the top, set some out on the table with plates, forks and napkins. Add a little sign that says “Welcome! Help yourselves!”.

Why Now is a Great Time to Purchase Myrtle Beach Real Estate

Savvy homebuyers know that the best time to be out shopping for real estate is when most other people aren’t. Lots of people in the market for a new home put their search on hold over the holidays because they’re busy with family life and holiday preparations. While that’s certainly understandable we have to say, they’re missing out a great time to purchase Myrtle Beach real estate.

Finding Myrtle Beach real estate over the holidaysAt a time like the holiday season there are far less people out looking at properties so you’ll simply have less pressure and competition for any real estate you may be considering. Take your time, but not too much time, and make your offer, and you just might discover how easily you can purchase that piece of real estate!

Many people with real estate on the market are eager to sell before the end of the year. You’ll find lots of them to be more willing to negotiate over their asking price during the holidays than they may have been at other times of the year. If you looked at a property earlier this year but didn’t make an offer or made one that was rejected, now may be a good time to try again. You just might be surprised by the results!

There is plenty of Myrtle Beach real estate for sale right through Christmas and the New Year. We have a large assortment of 1-3 bedroom single family homes as well as condos that we’d love to show you. These are beautiful and well-maintained properties, some of which are sold with complete furnishings and beautiful beach décor. Many of these properties are oceanfront real estate in Myrtle Beach and for many people, that’s an opportunity to purchase your own piece of paradise!

Give us a call at 843-449-0835 or 1-800-476-1760 if we can help you to purchase that new home before year’s end. Happy holidays to you and your family from all of us at Sloan Realty!
