The Surfside Beach Turkey Trot is the Grand Strand’s best and largest fitness event on Thanksgiving Day. It will start at and end at the Surfside Pier in Surfside Beach, SC with a great view of the Atlantic Ocean! The event will feature a 10K, 5K, 1 mile and a free Kid’s Tot Trot. The 10K race starts at 8:30 a.m. 5K Race Starts at 8:30 a.m. 1-Mile race starts at 8:35 a.m. Tot Trot Starts at 10:15 a.m.
The Lighting of the Landing takes place at Barefoot Resort on Friday, Nov. 21 from 7-9 p.m. Christmas is on its way and it's time to celebrate! Beginning with fireworks at 7:00 p.m., then Santa arrives, lights the Landing and visits with the children. Come join the caroling, music, holiday characters and a holiday movie. Bring a blanket and join us by the Christmas Mouse for this fun holiday celebration!
The Broadway at the Beach Jingle Bell Run & Walk 5k will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22. Come out and be a part of the largest holiday 5K race series aimed to fight arthritis! Chosen as one of the Most Incredible Themed Races, Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis is a fun and festive way to kick off your holidays by helping others. Wear a holiday themed costume. Tie jingle bells to your shoelaces. Raise funds to help find a cure for arthritis, the nation's leading cause of disability. Registration at 1 p.m. in Celebrity Square and the run/walk begins at 2 p.m.
There will be a Tree Lighting Ceremony at Broadway at the Beach at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22. Kick off the holiday season with "Magical" performances that include singing, dancing and some other surprises sure to get you in the Christmas spirit while leading up to the lighting of the Christmas tree! A fireworks show will follow the tree lighting at 8 p.m.
Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland is set up at TicketReturn.com Field in Myrtle Beach and ready to mesmerize children and adults alike from 6-10 p.m. every evening through Jan. 4, 2015. Come drive your car through an amazing assortment of colorful light displays as they change in beat with the music. The drive-through show begins at dusk each day. The 30th Annual Intracoastal Christmas Regatta will be held the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The fun-filled parade begins at the Little River Inlet at 5 p.m. and winds up at Dock Holidays Marina at 7 p.m. Bring a toy donation for Toys for Tots or a donation for the Humane Society.
