10th Annual Myrtle Beach Independence Day 5K
Get up and start the day with running in the 10th Annual Myrtle Beach Independence Day 5K run. Come to the Market Common at 7:30 am to participate in this fun 4th of July race. Each runner will receive a race shirt and a post-race breakfast from Bojangles. This happens to be one of the largest races in the area and it’s one that you don’t want to miss. If you don’t think you will be able to make it through the 5K, have no fear because they are offering a 1-mile race too. What a great way to start the holiday by getting in a little exercise!
Red, White & Blue 5K Race
Another fun 5K race that is happening in the Myrtle Beach area is the Red White & Blue 5K at Barefoot Landing. The race will begin and end at the new Amphitheater at Barefoot Landing and is something that you don’t want to miss. All are welcome to come participate including runners, walkers and those who have young ones in strollers. The race starts at 7:30 am and you can enjoy breakfast beginning at Lulu’s which is free for all registered runners. At 8:30 am the awards will be given to the runners. Don’t miss this fun and exciting race this coming up Thursday!
Hot Dog Eating Contest
Nothing says 4th of July unless there is an eating contest involved. This year come to Liberty Brewery & Grill at Broadway at the Beach for its hot dog contest. What a fun and exciting event for those who love hot dogs. The contest will begin at 3:00 pm and will have many prizes that can be won. Please note that there will be only 10 people who can register for this event and they must be over the age of 21 years old. A shirt will be provided to those who are registered at check in to wear during the contest.
July 4th Fireworks are the best when viewed at the beach. This is something that many families have grown up around with vacationing to Myrtle Beach to help celebrate the holiday. Head over to Broadway at the Beach this Thursday night at 10:00 pm to watch the fireworks extravaganza. Be sure to get there a little early so that your family can grab the best seats in the house!

Kick the summer off by coming to the Sun Fun Festival & Parade on Saturday, June 1st & 2nd. This is a historic festival that is happening at Pyler Park and won’t want to miss it. The fun begins on Friday afternoon and will have live entertainment, carnival games and the official “opening ceremony” along the boardwalk. The fun doesn’t stop there as it continues on Saturday for the annual Sun Fun Parade at 10:00 am and the festivities begin again at 5:00 pm. Sunday you and the family will be able to enjoy activities for all ages and more. This event is free to attend so start your vacation off with a bang as you come and celebrate summer vacation with us.
Take the Family to a Ball Game
Summer is here and that only means that it’s time to take the family to see the Myrtle Beach Pelicans play a game or a few. Their baseball season will be in full swing for 2019 and you won’t want to miss a single second of the fun. Tickets to see the game can cost as little as $9 per person and we promise you that there is not one bad seat in the whole stadium. Many of the June home games will include playing against the Wilmington Blue Rocks, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers and the Potomac Nationals. Don’t miss this fun activity with the family as you cheer on our hometown team the Pelicans!
Water Lantern Festival
For something a little different yet fun for everyone in the family, come to the Water Lantern Festival this year. Head over to the Grand Park at the Market Common with the whole family for an evening of fun on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Happening from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm is where you can enjoy some of the food from the food trucks and live music. Another perk of coming to the festival is you and your family can design your own water lantern and let them float on the lake. What a fun event for everyone of all ages to attend something fun and exciting. The cost of the festival is $25 per person but can be something like you’ve never seen before.
Do you and your family love fireworks but you don’t want to wait until the 4th of July? Then have no fear as June is the kickoff to the nightly firework shows. When you and your family are on vacation to the beach each year, you too can experience seeing nightly fireworks from all around the area. North Myrtle Beach is where you can head over to Barefoot Landing on Monday nights at 10:00 pm to see the amazing display in the sky. A few other places that you will be able to check out for fireworks are at Broadway at the Beach and at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans games. Hunt for Eggs
Don’t miss the 37th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at McLean Park in North Myrtle Beach for some extra fun. Beginning at 10:00 am the family can hunt for eggs throughout the park and it’s a free event to join in. Those who want to participate in the egg hunt will be divided into different age groups from infant and up. The Easter Bunny will be taking pictures with everyone and will be handing out candy to all the kids. Don’t forget to bring your cameras or have your phone charged enough to capture those precious moments.
There is another Easter egg hunt that will be happening in Surfside Beach at the Huckabee Complex on April 20th beginning at 1:00 pm. Here you and the family can hunt for some Easter eggs and can also enjoy the Children’s Festival as well. IT’s a free event that is available to everyone and there will be entertainment, inflatables, food & vendors. Think of the special moments you will capture with your family as you celebrate Easter with each other.
Easter Celebration at the Horry County Fair
For a special Easter Celebration at the Myrtle Beach Speedway for their 4th Annual Horry County Fair. On Sunday, April 21st from 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm is where you and the family can enjoy a fun county fair. To get started on the fun admission to the event is $5 per person and children 4 & under are free. Here you and your family will be able to enjoy an Easter Service, as well as carnival rides, games and so much more. There will be a petting zoo and let’s not forget about the pig racing. This can be a fun family day spending it out and about on the town for some Easter Fun.

The event is scheduled from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm on select nights from now until December 22, 2018.

The Great Christmas Light Show
Come celebrate the Christmas season at the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex for the Great Christmas Light Show. Open from now until December 30, 2018 you and your family can drive 1.5 miles to see the sparkling and dazzling lights on display. There will be around 20 different animated figures and different holiday scenes that come to life. And when you have finished driving through the light show, go visit Santa’s Village for some extra special fun. You can enjoy some village treats, ride on Santa’s Express Train, slip & slide down Santa’s Super Slide and Ice Skate the night away. And just to help make the night extra special bring your camera because Santa will be there for you to visit with!

Barefoot Landing Pumpkin Patch
Barefoot Landing will have their very own Pumpkin Patch this year for you and your family to come gather your pumpkins for your vacation. Pumpkins are in several different sizes this year and will only accept cash this year. They will be donating $1 from each pumpkin sold to go help with the hurricane and flood relief efforts in our community. The pumpkins available are small for $3, medium for $8, large for $10, extra-large for $12 and Specialty for $15. And there will be live music every Friday & Saturday night from 6 pm to 9 pm. Don’t miss this great and fun activity with your family this year!
Candy in the Corn Trick or Treat Trail
Every Saturday beginning on October 13th through the 27th, Thompson Farms will have their own trick or treating in a corn field. Dress the kids up in their Halloween costumes and they will have a chance to wind through a special kid-sized corn maze to find their own treats. And if you think that is all the fun, your kids will get to meet Pippa the Pumpkin Princess, Will the Witch, the Chick-Fil-A Cow and many other fun characters. This will run from 1pm – 2 pm and is included in the general admission price of $13.50 for the kids and $15.50 for the adults!
BooFest! at Barefoot Landing
Barefoot Landing is having their BooFest! again this year. Here they will be hosting a kids’ and pets costume contest on Saturday, October 27th from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. There will be prizes awarded for the best costumes for the kids and pets. They will also have live entertainment and activities for everyone to be a part of. Don’t miss out on this event because who doesn’t want to see cute pets in costumes?
Trick or Treating on Halloween
If you are vacationing during the week of Halloween, then you are coming for the fun. On Wednesday, October 31st you can go trick or treating at several locations. If you’d like to go to North Myrtle Beach, then head over to Barefoot Landing where your kids can get some treats. Beginning at 5 pm you and your family are invited to visit shops and restaurants to go trick or treating ending at 7 pm. If you’d like to try other places, then head to The Market Common and Broadway at the Beach to take advantage of getting treats for your kids.
